Pertuzumab (Perjeta) — Combination Monoclonal Antibody for HER2+ Breast Cancer

July 05, 2026

Pertuzumab combined with Trastuzumab creates dual HER2 blockade, improving outcomes in HER2-positive breast cancer. For reference.

## Role of Pertuzumab

Pertuzumab (Perjeta) is an anti-HER2 monoclonal antibody that binds to HER2 receptor domain II — a different site from Trastuzumab (domain IV). Combining both antibodies creates dual blockade, inhibiting HER2 activation more effectively than either agent alone.

## Practical Protocols

The HP (Herceptin + Perjeta) regimen combined with taxanes is widely used in HER2+ breast cancer in both early-stage (adjuvant/neoadjuvant) and advanced settings. This is a standard protocol at many major oncology centres in China and worldwide.

## In China

Centres like HYGEIA and GoBroad offer full Pertuzumab + Trastuzumab combination protocols for HER2+ breast cancer patients. International patients require HER2 IHC/FISH testing to confirm eligibility.
