Enzalutamide (Xtandi) — Androgen Receptor Inhibitor for Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer

July 16, 2026

Enzalutamide potently inhibits the androgen receptor (AR), remaining effective even when plasma testosterone is at castrate levels. A key option in advanced prostate cancer.

## AR Inhibition Mechanism

Enzalutamide (Xtandi) inhibits the androgen receptor more potently than older-generation Bicalutamide: blocking ligand binding, nuclear translocation and AR-dependent gene activation. It remains effective in castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) — when plasma testosterone is below 50 ng/dL.

## Indications

Chemotherapy-treated and chemotherapy-naïve mCRPC, metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer (mCSPC) and high-risk non-metastatic CRPC (nmCRPC).

## In China

Prostate cancer incidence is rising in China. HYGEIA and GoBroad have experience treating CRPC with Enzalutamide, Abiraterone and next-generation ARSis. International patients should bring the latest PSA results, biopsy and imaging.
