ENHERTU (Trastuzumab Deruxtecan) — Next-Generation ADC for HER2+ Breast Cancer
July 03, 2026
ENHERTU is a next-generation antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) combining Trastuzumab and a chemotherapy payload, selectively eliminating HER2-positive breast cancer cells. For reference.
What is ENHERTU?
ENHERTU (Trastuzumab deruxtecan, T-DXd) is a next-generation antibody-drug conjugate (ADC): the Trastuzumab antibody guides the drug to HER2+ cells, then releases the chemotherapy payload deruxtecan to destroy cancer cells from within. Compared to Trastuzumab alone, ENHERTU has greater potency and also acts on HER2-low cells.
Clinical Advantages
Effective in heavily pre-treated HER2+ breast cancer and HER2-low breast cancer — a patient group that previously could not benefit from HER2-targeted therapy. ENHERTU is also being studied in HER2+ lung and gastric cancers.
In China
ENHERTU and next-generation ADCs are accessible at major oncology centres in China, particularly through the Hainan Medical Free Trade Zone where drugs not yet approved for the mainland can still be used.
