Hepatology: hepatitis and elevated liver enzymes

A hepatologist treats liver conditions such as viral hepatitis, fatty liver, and elevated liver enzymes. Hepatitis B is fairly common in Vietnam.

See a doctor if you find elevated liver enzymes, jaundice, prolonged fatigue, or if you are in a hepatitis risk group.

A visit usually includes liver function tests and an ultrasound. Ask beforehand whether you need to fast.

Ask the doctor about vaccination, a suitable diet, and your monitoring schedule. Limit alcohol as advised by your doctor.
