## Mechanism of Action
Bevacizumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A). By inhibiting VEGF, it prevents tumours from forming new blood vessels (angiogenesis), effectively "starving" the tumour and suppressing metastasis.
## Clinical Applications
Bevacizumab is widely used in: advanced colorectal cancer (combined with FOLFOX/FOLFIRI chemotherapy), non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer, recurrent ovarian cancer, cervical cancer and certain malignant brain tumours (glioblastoma).
## In China
Major oncology centres in China such as HYGEIA and GoBroad use Bevacizumab in combination protocols, especially for colorectal and advanced lung cancer patients. International patients are typically assessed for gene and protein expression to confirm drug response before inclusion in a protocol.
